The quality of a custom T-shirt print begins with the quality of the uploaded artwork. A clear, well-prepared image gives the printer more information to work with and helps small details remain visible.
Use the Largest Original File
Whenever possible, upload the original image instead of a screenshot or social-media copy.
For a large shirt design, an image that is at least 2,000 pixels on its longest side is a useful starting point. More detailed artwork may benefit from a larger file.
A small image can be enlarged in the editor, but enlarging it does not add new detail. If the original file is blurry or pixelated, the finished print may show the same limitations.
PNG, JPG or WEBP?
PNG is recommended for:
• Logos
• Illustrations
• Text-based designs
• Artwork with a transparent background
• Designs that should not have a rectangular background
JPG is recommended for:
• Photographs
• Full rectangular images
• Artwork with a complete background
• Large files that need a smaller file size
WEBP can also provide good image quality with a smaller file size when supported by the design uploader.
Transparent Backgrounds
A transparent PNG allows the shirt color to show around the design. This is often the best choice for logos, lettering and illustrations.
If your file has a white background, that white area may become part of the printed design. Check the preview carefully before adding the product to your cart.
Avoid Common Image Problems
Try not to use:
• Screenshots
• Images copied from messaging applications
• Tiny website thumbnails
• Heavily compressed social-media images
• Blurry photographs
• Artwork with unwanted backgrounds
• Images containing someone else’s watermark
Text and Fine Details
Check all spelling before submitting the order. Small text, thin lines and very fine details may become harder to see when printed on fabric.
Use readable lettering and strong contrast between the artwork and the selected shirt color. Light artwork generally stands out better on dark shirts, while darker artwork is usually more visible on light shirts.
Keep Important Details Inside the Print Area
Artwork can be moved and resized in the customization studio. Keep important faces, names and text slightly inside the printable boundary.
Anything outside the print frame is not part of the intended printable area. The preview helps you plan placement, but normal differences may occur between shirt sizes and during production.
Before You Order
Zoom in and inspect the image before submitting it. Confirm that it looks clear at the size you want and that you have permission to reproduce the artwork.
A few minutes spent preparing the image can make a significant difference in the finished personalized product.
